To clarify the ranks of the following officers a further table is appended below:

This corps of officers was distinguished by use of dark grey as the corps colour. It was used as the base material of the cap band, collars on the frockcoat and reefer and as an underlay to the shoulder boards and the sleeve rank insignia. The badge of the Feuerwerks-Offizier was an "F" and that of the Torpeder-Offizier a crossed anchor and mine.

1 Brevet rank (Charakterisiert) conferred on retired officers prior to the war. In use during the war when these officers were recalled to service. Only one additional promotion of a serving active officer in March 1915.
