Uniform as line officers with the following exceptions:
The service cap had a band of blue mohair in the colour of the facings on the Galarock. The Frock coat and service jacket had a collar of the same material. The shoulder boards carried an Aesculapian staff. The Generalstabsarzt der Marine wore a special badge consisting of an eagle above an Aesculapian staff.
